Violent Scenes is the New Greek Theater. Mindful of Euripides and Godard’s lesson, it despises the TV theatrical performances and declares that tragedy is not violent. Violent Scenes is an attempt at being human. The band lays on a deep long-lasting friendship between the members who are based in Italy. With strings, thoughtful arrangements, backup vocals, and rich electronic composition Violent Scenes are a true breath of fresh air when compared to the rest of the current scene. While Know by Heart is filled with lonely songs that are as warm as a hug from a long-lost friend, Stimmung is more of a rebirth than a debut, as well as a potent, poignant reminder of how much electronic music and experimentation should be more influent in the indie rock panorama.
After the debut album Know by Heart (Angapp, 2017), focused on the divine memory of men, in Stimmung we talk more about solitude, nostalgia, angst and love. There's no man outside feelings, maybe only gods. Sensibility leads men to wish an impossible perfection. It’s almost always a distraction, sometimes a prison, rarely a doorway to seek awareness: «A way of finding which arises not so much from a direct seeking as rather from a fleeing» – Heidegger says in Being and Time.
